How to Perform Key Serialization and Transfer in OMS

Why are my serialized keys not in the list on the Serial Key Cutter?

There are several reasons why your serialized keys might not appear in the Batch Add option:

  • Incorrect Keyway: Ensure that the key you are looking for matches the keyway of the system you have selected, if they do not match they will be filtered out. 

  • Keys not Imported: The keys might not have been fully imported into the OMS system yet.

  • Other Issues: There might be other unforeseen issues preventing the keys from being displayed. If you've checked the keyway and import status and are still unable to locate your keys, please contact Levi. 


  1. Login: Begin by logging into OMS at app.openingmanagement.com.

  2. Accessing Key Management Tools: After logging in, click on your profile icon. This will provide access to various tools, including the Customers Tab (where the Serial Key Table is located) and the Tools Tab (where Key Receipts can be found).

  3. Reviewing Serialized Keys (Optional):

  • Once a key is serialized, it is recorded in the Serial Key Table.

  • To view this table, navigate to the Customers Tab and click on Serial Keys. Here, you can see a record of all serialized keys.

  1. Assigning Serial Keys to Blind Codes using the Serial Key Cutter:

  • Go to the Serial Key Cutter interface, found by clicking on your profile icon and then selecting the Tools tab.

  • Select the Customer.

  • Select the System associated with the customer.

  • Add Keys: For each key:

  • Scan or type in the number of the serial key.

  • Enter the corresponding blind code.

  • Click "Save" for each key entry.

  • Once all keys and blind codes are entered, click "Mark as Cut".

  1. Transferring Keys to the Customer via Key Receipt:

  • Navigate to the Tools Tab (via your profile icon) and click on Key Receipts.

  • Click "Add" and then "Create New Key Receipt".

  • Select the Customer.

  • Select the System.

  • **Select the Key Holder.

  • Authorization Alert: If the keyholder is not authorized with that key system, the system will prompt: "Not Authorized: Please check with the system owner before issuing keys." Verify authorization as needed.

  • Add Keys to the Receipt: Click "Batch Add" to select from the list of keys that have already been assigned blind codes. Choose the keys being issued to the customer.

  • Customer Verification: Have the customer sign the key receipt.

  • Upload Identification: Upload an image of the customer's Company ID or driver's license.

  • Click "Submit Key Receipt".

  1. Referencing Key Information:

  • To look up information about a specific key or a customer's keys, go to the Serial Key View.

  • Click "Filter".

  • You can filter by Customer Name to see all keys issued to that customer.

  • You can also filter by System Number to see keys associated with a specific system.
